Serum Tears is a customized ophthalmic biological therapy tailored to each patient. Serum Tears are created by combining the patient’s blood serum with sterile, preservative-free saline or balanced salt solution. This solution contains growth factors and proteins that may help heal epithelial defects and relieve symptoms of severe dry eye.
A physician prescribes Serum Tears for patients experiencing symptoms that have not responded to other treatments.

Your Serum Tears will typically be delivered to you within three business days. Beauty of Sight cannot ship Serum Tears outside of the state of Florida.
BLOOD DRAW
A certified phlebotomist performs blood draws in the convenience of your home or office. Beauty of Sight does not draw blood at our facility. If you cancel less than 48 hours before your scheduled blood draw, you will be responsible for the phlebotomist’s fee.
The amount of blood drawn depends upon the quantity you order, as well as the concentration of your Serum Tears prescription, determined by your physician.
You must fast for 4 hours before your blood draw. This does not include water. If you do not fast for 4 hours before your blood draw, your blood will not be drawn, and you will be responsible for the phlebotomist’s fee. Once your blood is drawn, it is delivered to Beauty of Sight’s laboratory for processing.
Your Serum Tears will typically be delivered to you within three business days of your blood draw. Beauty of Sight cannot ship outside of the state of Florida.
Before shipment, Beauty of Sight will call you to confirm the delivery address. Someone must be present at the time of delivery.
Serum Tears are delivered refrigerated, not frozen. Upon receipt, unpack the box and verify that your name and date of birth are correctly displayed on the labels. Immediately freeze all bottles except one.
Your serum tears will arrive chilled or frozen to preserve their integrity. Here’s how to store them:
- In Use: Keep the bottle you are currently using refrigerated at all times. Defrost a new bottle every 3 days.
- For Later Use: Store all remaining vials upright in the freezer until you are ready to use them.
- Shelf Life: Each thawed vial should be used within one week of thawing.

REFILLS
- Each time you order Serum Tears, a new blood draw must be performed.
- Please contact Beauty of Sight at least two weeks before opening your last bottle. We will make every effort to schedule your blood draw as quickly as possible, but we cannot guarantee a last-minute appointment.
- We are unable to schedule your refill without a current prescription. If your prescription has expired, please get in touch with your doctor to obtain a new one.
